It’s that time of the year when we won’t talk women and moms rather appreciate the men for once. We women cant rant and how! So much so, that sometimes we forget to even take the men in our lives into consideration. They have always been underestimated but do they ever complain? Well, emoting is just not their style. We may not understand each other completely and while women are a puzzle for men, men are too for us! It is always said that a woman is the backbone of a man’s life but we never say that a man is the better half of a woman. This Men’s Day we asked women/men from all walks of life to come ahead and dedicate an appreciation post for the men in their lives. The ones who have stood by them in thick or thin and the ones who do not expect anything in return. Who doesn’t love some appreciation? This Men’s Day post is for every father, husband, son, brother, and best friend that have been the #UnSungHeroes of our lives.
Divya Singh, a personal shopper, blogger, and stylist dedicated this post to her dad and husband.
Your values define who you are; the values of honesty, integrity, sincerity, hard work, respect for all around you and never to choose the destructive path of self and outward victimisation. These are a few things I learned from my father. He also taught me not to wait for someone else to define success or happiness for me, but to write my story myself. For me, a true hero, who lives his life following everything he preaches. ‘A father and always a friend!’
Then comes the next hero of my life, ‘my dearest friend.’ I have known Siddharth since childhood and he has always been my strength. He has stood by me when no one else did, and always believed in me. He held my hand when I was disheartened; he walked by my side even if he didn’t agree with my chosen path; he taught me patience, kindness, and love. He taught me how to be medicine to a problem and not poison. It’s from him I learned why giving up on my dreams was never an option and why one must be persistent and do the right things, and success would certainly follow.
‘My husband, my guide, my friend for life!’
These two men, definitely make my life whole!!
Sonika Gupta, a French teacher, and a homemaker can’t get enough of her son.
I don’t know if I can call myself a mom who is perfect in every way but I am sure that I can call Aditya a perfect son, who amazes me day after day. I am not certain if I have achieved everything I wanted to so far, but all my shortcomings are negated because of the awesome son that he is. He is the joy that grows in my heart each day. He is the bliss for which I am thankful in every way. He is the cheer that shows me my life’s worth. He is the happiness that comes only to a lucky few.
Summing it up. Thanks for being my Onida son
” Neighbour’s Envy, Owner’s Pride “
For Tanu Agarwal one is her strength and the other her pride.
The man in my life is my hubby. We fight a lot and have very different thought process but he is my strength. Without him, I can’t do anything.
The second man in my life is my son. He is my lifeline but I don’t take him as my support system . Being my first born, he will always hold a special place in my heart.
He is my strength, my friend, my teacher, my little cook, at times my guide, my toy. As a Son, he is a complete package which I m very proud of.
Shruti Jaiswal, a parenting coach dedicated this beautiful post to her husband. I am not a big fan of expressing my inner feelings over social media. However this MAN’S DAY I shed all my fundamentals and take this opportunity to shamelessly thank my amazing husband of 10 years.
Marriage is a social contract. In today’s fragile times what is one of the most important ingredients in a marriage? For me, it is mutual respect and admiration.
As years go by and the novelty wears off; one is as a present to the quirks, annoying habits, and flaws of their spouses as much as their virtues – it is this respect for that person that sustains this partnership in the truest sense of the word.
My husband Manoj is someone whom I respect immensely. Not only because he has achieved so much in worldly terms – shattered glass ceilings, carved his own path and has always extended support to his siblings and family to get to the next level but also because within the exterior of this high flying, corporate honcho lies a grounded heart of gold.
Manoj is always there to extend a helping hand to anyone in need. I was bowled over, by his simple act of helping a young Arabic girl and her family, during our honeymoon. This girl had some breathing problems at high altitude and amongst the entire crowd, Manoj was one of the few people who helped her father to carry her stretcher all the way down to the ambulance.
He always treats everyone with dignity, humility, and respect whether it is his friends, colleagues or his driver & house helps.
Despite his hectic schedule and a broken ankle, he hardly misses his workout. This also inspires a reluctant me to foray into the journey of fitness.
I can go on and on, but this men’s day – my most fitting tribute to my husband would be the acknowledgment of the fact that I am happy that my beautiful daughter shares her genes with this wonderful man. Just by the virtue of this circumstance and the upbringing you give, I am assured that we are raising a courageous, compassionate and a loving human being.
Thank you! hubby love for never giving up on US and always being there by my side. I love you.
Sonali is a homemaker and a doting mom to two fully grown up kids. She has many wonderful things to share with her dearest son.
I adore his smiles, I cherish his hugs and I thank god that he gave him in my life. My son, Varun.. a thorough gentleman, full of love for everyone.. a mother’s dream come true. Your small gestures, express so much, without words.. like keeping a glass of water by my bedside at night or putting a blanket over me if I have slept without one. You are precious..love you and wish you a very Happy Men’s Day.
We had men making dedications as well. Samarth Chopra wants to thank his best friend Dhruv Gohil for being his rock.
Well, it might sound a little unreal but my hero is my Best Friend.
I’ve got a lot of men around me who care for me and are really close to me but I’ve never ever been more transparent to anymore more than him, he’s like an empty box I fill with my emotions all the good news, sorrows, anger or whatever you call it, he’s like a father I don’t have to think before talking to, he’s a magician, he knows things before me even uttering a word. He does act stupid at times but what I know for a fact is, if I am in trouble there’s nothing he won’t do just to make sure that I am fine. These words are never going to be enough to express what I feel for him, for me my Best Friend is my hero.
For Moksha Thakkar, her dad is her hero!
He is the one who held my hand and made me take my first step, he is the one who became my friend when I started growing up, he is the one who has always made me learn that never stop gaining knowledge, because the more you learn the more you build yourself, he is the one who is my idol, he is the one whom I have seen struggling, he is the one who has led up to every expectation of all the members of his family since his childhood, he is the one who has build himself and reached to this position all alone all by himself, he is the one who is my corner of talk when I want to share my thoughts, he is the one who is my place of serene, he is the root and roof of my life, he is the one whose replica I always want to be, he is the one I want to be the backbone of, he is the one I always want to never let the smile get dimmed of, he is the one who has taught me the worth of my life. He is my father, my priority.
For Rohan Madnani, Karan Madnani is not only his brother but his support system.
Starting from the dominance he had on me as an elder one, the bullying he did to me since childhood and of course still continues to do but nevertheless, I have him as a brother but more as a friend with whom I can fight and get back again without any grudges. We know each other as we were always into sharing almost same things together, we know each other’s heart and I know he will always be there when I need him as a backbone and as a shield to protect me because brothers don’t let each other wander in the dark alone. As a child you had more privileges of being loved by mom irrespective of who was right or wrong and the favouritism you had which made me jealous all the time but let me take this moment to thank him for all the love he has given to me and each new experience he shared so that I can become a better person like he already is. So thank you bhai, for everything, right from my childhood I have looked up to you and always will. May you always be with me, on my side, my support system, my brother. As I always say, ‘A knight of a shining armour you are my brightest shining star.’
Such heartwarming dedications! Do you have that special someone you haven’t told how much you appreciate them being around? Here is your chance. And you don’t need a Men’s Day to do this, but it does serve as a good reminder doesn’t it?
